I wanted to try out Smashbox cosmetics for a while, so I was delighted when Smashbox sent me some of their products! Smashbox is an innovative brand that produces beauty products that can withstand camera and the spotlight.
Their photo finish primerizer acts as both a primer and moisturiser, aiding in moisturising the skin for up to 24 hours, and increases moisture by 127%. I applied the primer into the palm of my hands and worked the product into my face. The primer felt quite light almost water-based and acted as a sheer shield to protect my pores from makeup that may settle in. The primer also aids in acting like a magnet that locks onto the foundation, achieving a smooth polished makeup look.
My shade in this foundation was 4.05-Neutral tan, although I had previously been to the Smashbox’s studio in London and was colour matched; the foundation shade of colour was a little off. When applying this foundation, I realised that this foundation was a few shades darker than my usual tone and had a slight warm undertone, leaving my face orange. I applied this foundation with a beauty blender, to give off a more natural look. After applying the foundation, I used a mineralise powder to take away any shine and give off a matte finish. Despite the colour being off, the foundation is weightless and blurs imperfections with the light-diffusing sphere to enable a smooth full coverage finish. I have been wearing this foundation for the last couple of weeks and can confirm that the foundation has longevity. Throughout the day, my foundation does not crease up or fade off.
This is my favourite product from the parcel of Smashbox goodies! Smashbox created this BB eye cream with the idea of using this product for early morning shoots in LA to brighten up, illuminate and smooth under eyes. As soon, as I started using BB eye cream, I fell in love with this product. I placed the cream under my eyes, as it covered my flaws, leaving my eyes looking brighter and my under eye skin more rejuvenated. I have since been using this product every day in my makeup routine, and I have replaced my Nars creamy concealer with this BB eye cream.
At first, I was not sure of the choice of colour of the cover shot eye palette, as the tones are quite dark and my usual choice of eyeshadow colour is more neutral tones. However, after swatching the colours, I was drawn to the deep reddish tones, and drifting towards the shades Throwback and Nevada. When applying the eyeshadow colours I was in love with how pigmented and rich in colour they are. The eyeshadow comes off the brush with ease, as the colour of the eyeshadow is prominent.
This cruelty-free lipstick uses advanced polymer technology, which makes the lipstick last up to 8 hours of wear. Despite, having a matte finish the lipstick is infused with primer oil complex to condition the lips. When choosing my lipsticks, I usually go for a bright red tone, as I love a bold red lip. However, I wanted to be bold with my colour choice and chose True Grit- a deep mahogany brown lip colour. When putting on the lipstick I was fascinated with the lip applicator, shaped like actual lips, the applicator makes it easy to apply the lipstick, without a liner. I wore this lipstick during dinner and was surprised as it did not smudge or fade, which is impressive, as this lipstick does what it advertises.
