I have always shied away from Tartan for whatever reason, and it’s not just for the Scottish! So the trend of tartan is back for fall and I have been rocking this latest trend in a multiple of ways.
Firstly the tartan blazer, this blazer is from PrettyLittleThing, which is one of my favourite fast fashion online stores. PrettyLittleThing can make your outfit look more Bouji than it actually is. A blazer is a staple piece that every individual need in their closet, so why not a tartan print blazer and at just £35 I definitely could not say no! I paired this blazer with leather pants from Hudson jeans to elevate this outfit. I feel that leather can make the plainest outfit pop, I have a variety of leather pants, but I chose this pair as black goes with anything.
The gold button detail on this blazer, make the blazer look Balmainesque, and Balmain always include the tartan print in their collection, so why not steal the style.
If the red tartan print is too bold for you, why not go for a grey muted check print. I brought this blazer two seasons ago from Zara for £79.99 and it’s back on trend for this season. Zara is also a great place to buy blazers from, and they always have the same or similar style of blazer each season. What I loved about Zara is the price may be a little step for high street fashion but the quality always remains on point. I have brought blazers from Zara, which have lasted for years, which I can wear from season to season as they are always on trend.
I paired this blazer with a Mih chunky knit, as the weather as changed recently and this is one of my favourite knits that kept me snuggly and warm. I tend to buy quite a lot of knits from Mih, due to the quality and the fabrics used. I love the bow detail of this jumper, it emphasises my girly persona and adds detail to the outfit. To add some style to this outfit, I wore a patent leather zip-up mini skirt from Topshop. I love this skirt and with a pair of tights, it’s still great to wear in fall.
To complete this look, I chose these chain leather boots from PrettyLittleThing, they are the perfect boots to style with any fall outfit. Super comfortable and practicable for the change in weather.
When I saw this tartan co-od on PrettyLittleThing I definitely needed to add to my basket and style this! It’s the perfect way to rock the Tartan trend and look fabulous at the same time. I took the shirt in a UK 8, as I wanted the shirt to fit oversized. I took the pants in UK 6 and I love how the pants sit high waisted on the body as it aids in cinching my waist. However the pants do run a little big, both on the waist and length so I would advise going a size down.
The shirt and pants are a great combo but can also be purchased separately with the shirt being £25 and the pants priced at £20.
I styled this co-od with Alexander McQueen runway sneakers for a casual look and Topshop statement sunglasses. The sun was shining that day, and it also made me look like a superstar.
One of my favourite things to do is accessorise my outfit and with the weather dropping to low temperatures, I need to be wrapped like a Christmas gift. A tartan scarf is a perfect accessory and this scarf can be worn both ways.
This scarf is revisable and can be worn the traditional Scottish red tartan way, or the subtle red, brown and black check way. For £15, it’s like getting two scarfs in one and is the perfect way to accessorise any outfit.
