Shut the front door! I have finally just tried the new Nars Climax mascara and it is the absolute bomb! What the hell was I waiting for! This has to be one of the best mascara for fall and I can’t wait to give you all the gossip on this mascara!
To create my Nars look, first of all I had to ensure that my brows were on fleek. After prepping my brows, I used the Nars radiant creamy concealer in med dark 2. I have used this concealer for the last 5 years, and even though I sometimes stray this is one of the best concealers in the beauty industry. I just love how creamy this concealer is and how it definitely aids in covering eyebrow regrowth. My eyebrows grow at rapid speed so I love using this concealer to cover my eyebrows. I also used this concealer underneath my eyes to brighten and illuminate my under eye area. This concealer is for golden tones and is for medium to full coverage.
Has today was all about the eyes I just took their eye paint in Black valley to create a subtle eye flick that will also enhance my eyes. This eye paint is a little pot of luxury as the formula is creamy and is easy to apply to the eye as the formula just glides onto the eye. However, it is still high in pigmentation and has quick-drying technology that leaves your eyes matte with a long and lasting finish. I just applied this eyepaint with an eye brush to create a perfect flick. However, you do have to be careful when applying the eye paint initially as it is so soft and although it does dry very quickly, it can easily smudge in the first few seconds of applying.
To further enhance my eyes I used the Nars larger than life long-wear eyeliner in Via Appa, which is a copper brown colour. This eyeliner is about taking your makeup looks to the next level! I applied the eyeliner to my eyes and lined my lash line. As the copper brown has a slight metallic tint to it, it is something different and unusual on the eye, giving my eye a metallic definition. This eyeliner is definitely vibrant in colour and will give you up to 12 hours of wear, without the liner moving as it is guaranteed to be smudge free.
For highlight, of course, I had to use the Nars highlighting powder in the colour St Barts. I placed on the bridge of my nose and glided all over my cheekbones as these are the areas of my face that I love to add highlight too and make popping! The highlighting powder is a velvety texture with a shimmer finish which reflects the light onto your skin, making you glow for the Gods and giving you that extra radiant boost. ST Barts is a perfect shade for medium to dark skin tones, and the copper shade undertone leaves the face illuminated with no ashy flash black. A little goes a long way with this powder. I am totally in love with this highlight and even use it every day now for a soft or subtle highlight.
To complete my look, I took the star of this blog post, the new Nars Climax mascara! Where Nars’ slogan is #NEVERFAKEIT Don’t stop! Keep going! Reach your climax with explosive volume. The Nars Climax mascara is taking your eyelashes to another level! The climax mascara is ribbed in its bristles loaded up with whipped, blackened pigments, which gives a dramatic lift but still gentle and lightweight on the eyes. From one stroke of this brush, its Lash Moisture Complex goes all the way—from roots to tips and back again—for buildable intensity without clumping or smudging. Nars tested this innovative mascara on a group of women and here are the following results:
-96% achieved full and maximum volume*
-96% saw clump-free buildable volume**
-100% saw instant curl base-to-tip*
(*THIS WAS BASED ON AN INDEPENDENT U.S. CONSUMER STUDY OF 32 WOMEN. **BASED ON AN INDEPENDENT U.S. CONSUMER AND CLINICAL STUDY OF 32 WOMEN.)
For me, this mascara is absolutely unreal! It is one of the best mascara that I have ever used. I honestly thought there was a lot of hype around this product but now I definitely understand why! I usually just go with my natural lashes for a makeup look and I love that this mascara literally enhances my lashes. For the application, I was taking the brush and lifting my lashes through the bristles, to give each individual lash a coating and curl. The brush is quite thick but has individual thin bristles that aided in lifting my eyelashes, whilst coating them with a pigmented black coat, ensuring that majority of lashes are coated. I already have long lashes naturally but this mascara aided in spreading out my lashes.
For my lips I am taking the Nars velvet matte lip pencil in damned, this is a deep burgundy colour. This velvet matte lip pencil gives the same effect as a matte lipstick but in a pencil form. The pencil is formed of a long-lasting, non-drying formula is enriched with Vitamin E and emollients for a creamy texture, while a combination of unique silicones ensures long-lasting, seamless matte colour for hours. Lips are instantly saturated with rich, vivid pigments and a velvety matte finish. The pencil is jumbo sized to enable easy application, lining, defining, and filling in lips. I applied this pencil by lining my lips to have a defined lip shape and then priming my lips with Vaseline to create a glossy matte look. I then applied the pencil to the rest of my lips to create a deep red lip.
Final thoughts: I thought there was too much hype surrounding this mascara but it seems that it is worth the hype! I definitely will be adding this mascara to my beauty box and everyday makeup routine.
